For families and international travelers who’s looking for a stay with a relaxed atmosphere amidst the surrounding beauty, this hotel is a great option. Vagamon Vagashore became new to the area when it opened in 2021 and it’s quality service made it popular amongst Malayalam movie stars and filming crews that used Vagamon’s scenic location for their shoots.

That said, they offer affordable options for all their guests from single basic rooms to large suites with balconies. Take your pick and enjoy Vagamon while staying in one of it’s underrated hotels.

Important note: Vagamon is a common location for college students on tour and so, every hotel in the town plays loud music from 5.30pm to around 10-11pm on weekdays and 2am on weekends. So if you’re not a fan of loud sounds, then make sure to head here during work weeks and non-holiday weeks in the country to avoid the noise.

Location & Neighborhood

Vagamon Vagashore might be a little hard to find for newcomers as it’s a road away from the main town. The path to the hotel is still currently being built which gives Vagashore a feeling of being in the midst of wilderness surrounded by the forest hills. But the hotel is not completely isolated as there are other handful of resorts surrounding it.

Vagashore’s location close to the town’s popular spots like the Adventure Park, pine hills and meadows makes it an ideal location for travelers to access Vagamon’s scenic places in just 10-20 minutes of distances. The hotel is also located in Vagamon’s main town so travelers have accessibility to hotels, tea shops, souvenir shops, medical supplies and more with ease.

Dining Experience

Vagashore has a cozy restaurant in it’s third floor built in a traditional-keralite appearance. Grills and glass windows surrounds the dining area, letting in soothing breezes and calming winds. You also get to see the lotus pond from the roof. Travelers also get to dine on traditional food as you listen to the pitter-patter of rain lashing outside or the chill of fog creeping into the valley.

The restaurant has a selected a la-carte menu with limited items for lunch and dinner which is made by a lady home-cook. Because of it’s limited selections, all the food made taste homely and is light on the stomach. If you plan to eat from this hotel’s restaurant, then you’ll need to inform them ahead so they can prepare your selected dish for you in time.

Vagamon Vagashore also has a complimentary breakfast option with limited local dishes consisting of staple curries like chicpeas, greenpeas, appam (traditional Keralite non-sweet pancakes) and their blend of special tea. If you want to experience eating like a local with healthy meals and traditional dishes, then this is the place for you.

Rooms

Neat, simple and with all the necessary amenities, the rooms in Vagamon Vagashore are bigger than your average hotel rooms and has all the needed facilities from a tea corner to free toiletries. They have affordable suite rooms that consists of a living room with couches and a coffee table and a bedroom with cupboards, mirrors, TV and a tea corner.

The suite rooms, as well as other rooms, also have a balcony where you can get views of the hills and the lotus lake (which we recommend booking). Since Vagashore is in the valley, after sundown little light penetrates this area and the hills get covered in the darkness of the night. This makes for a spectacular view during the cooler months as the mist covers the entire place, hiding all of nature’s and man-made structure behind its thick cotton mists. With nothing in your view, it makes you feel like you’re standing amidst the clouds.
